VitalPaw helps you record and understand vital sign readings using general veterinary reference information. It does not examine your dog, diagnose a condition, or replace veterinary care. Seek veterinary care whenever your dog appears seriously unwell, regardless of the result shown.

VitalPaw compares the number you record against published reference ranges and describes where it sits. It cannot examine your dog, it does not know your dog’s history, and it never diagnoses a condition or prescribes a treatment. A reading inside the reference range does not mean your dog is well, and a reading outside it does not mean your dog is ill. If your dog looks seriously unwell, contact a veterinarian regardless of what the app shows.

Do not use VitalPaw instead of calling for help. If your dog collapses, struggles to breathe, will not wake, has pale, blue or grey gums, or is bleeding and it will not stop, contact an emergency veterinary clinic immediately.

The ranges VitalPaw uses are taken from published veterinary references, including American Red Cross pet first aid material, the California Veterinary Emergency Team, VCA Animal Hospitals and the Merck Veterinary Manual. No number in the app is invented. Where two sources disagree, VitalPaw shows the disputed window as “check again” rather than quietly picking a side. Newborn puppies under two weeks old are out of scope and VitalPaw should not be used for them.

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for the accuracy of what you record. Do not use VitalPaw to store anything other than your own dogs’ readings. You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the account menu.

VitalPaw is free to use. Payments are voluntary, are handled by PayPal, and are treated as support for the project rather than the purchase of a service. They are not refundable and they do not unlock features.

VitalPaw is provided as-is, without warranty. The service may be unavailable at times and readings may be lost through circumstances outside our control, so keep your own export if a record matters to you. To the fullest extent the law allows, VitalPaw is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app or from any decision taken on the basis of what it displays.
